about W83
W83 is the home of Redeemer West Side and a neighborhood hub for thoughtful conversations, cultural engagement, and community connections on the Upper West Side of NYC.
We serve our neighbors on the UWS primarily by:
Providing affordable space for various gatherings and events
Hosting visual and performing arts experiences that feature local artists
Offering resources for community formation and personal development via partnering organizations
about our building
Our five-story, 45,000 square foot multifunction community and cultural center (a former parking garage!) was renovated by Redeemer Presbyterian Church and opened in March of 2012. Boasting a concert hall that seats up to 725, two floors of classrooms and meeting space, and a versatile 3,500 square foot loft space with adjoining roof terrace, our space hosts a wide variety of public and private events. W83 serves as the worship and meeting space for the Redeemer West Side congregation, and hosts events from concerts to conferences to private receptions, including weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, and more. The Gallery at W83 showcases emerging local artists and is open to the public daily.
W83 is proud to maintain LEED Certified status, granted in 2013 for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design for New Construction.
about the gallery
At the Gallery at W83, we cultivate art and community on the Upper West Side, providing space for personal engagement, community conversations, and spiritual reflection, and collaborate with local artists from diverse backgrounds to explore universal themes of culture, community, and faith.
We bring together different perspectives in this space as an invitation to join in conversations we believe are vital to us all. We affirm the artist's right to express their views independently, and the views expressed by the artists are their own and do not necessarily represent the Gallery at W83 or Redeemer West Side.
