Perspective Drawing 101 with Grant Billingsley and Avery Reed

If you had to depict your environment, would you choose to work from your imagination or observation? Why?

Join artists Grant Billingsley and Avery Reed as they teach a drawing class based on the theme of their current exhibit, “Outside/In”, at the Gallery at W83 Ministry Center.

Grant and Avery will guide participants as they create drawings of environments, teach the rules of one-point perspective, as well rules of overlap, size change, color change, detail change to create a sense of depth. They will analyze the works of Ansel Adams and other landscape photographers, the School of Athens, St. Peter’s Cathedral, Albrecht Durer, Giacometti drawings, and Corot’s landscapes. They will also look at Giorgio de Chirico paintings for what happens when you don’t follow the rules.

All experience levels welcome.

Class fee is $3 online or at the door and includes supplies. Children ages 16 and under can attend for free.
