Jennifer Ahn explores beauty and brokenness in her abstract paintings, inviting the viewer into emotions and narratives of loss and hope. DESOLATION | CONSOLATION is her first solo exhibit, featuring a body of work that confronts the darkness that surrounds us and points to a light that the darkness does not overwhelm.
About the artist
Jennifer Ahn is a Korean-born American painter who grew up in the Northwest and now lives in New York City. She incorporates landscapes and stories from her extensive travels as well as people she’s met on her journeys as important themes in her paintings. Her work is a blend of realism and abstract with an influence of Abstract Expressionism, and an ongoing exploration in the fields of color models and pictorial space.
A self-taught painter, Jennifer debuted with her first exhibit at KreateHubNY in the Bronx in July 2021, followed by a group exhibit at FREDA in Philadelphia, PA in June 2022.
